A former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under President Reagan
stepped back into the political spotlight (June 21, 2005), expressing
doubt about the official 9/11 story and claiming "if they lied to us
about Ruby Ridge, Waco and weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, why
should we believe them now." Paul Craig Roberts,
listed by Who's Who in America as one of the 1,000 most influential
political thinkers in the world, has evolved over the years into a
major Bush basher as well as neo con critic. Roberts said he hasn't
changed his political ideology or jumped from the Republican-
conservative ship but "just can't respect a party leadership who
doesn't respect the truth."
He is another in the long list of "Republican faithful," including
top-ranking government and military officials who have left or been
pushed out Washington, since Bush's neo con followers continue
demonstrating a lack of desire and patience to compromise even with
conservatives refusing "to toe the neo con line."
"I guess the real story about 9/11 is about what the people are
actually saying. I've gotten hundreds of emails in response to my
columns and many of them talk about not getting the truth from the
government or the media about what really happened at the World Trade
Center. I know many qualified engineers and scientists have said the
WTC collapsed from explosives. In fact, if you look at the manner in
which it fell, you have to give their conclusions credibility."
Besides 9/11 and blasting the neo con economic agenda as suicide for
America, Roberts in his latest column seriously attacks the Bush Iraq
war policy. Without mincing words, he wrote:
" The reasons they (the American people) were given by their president,
vice president, secretary of defense, national security adviser,
secretary of state, and the sycophantic media were nothing but a pack
of lies."
Accusing Bush of also lying to the American people in his recent June 18 radio address, he added:
"Bush again lied to the American people when he told them that the U.S.
was forced into invading Iraq because of the Sept. 11 attack on the WTC.
"Bush, the greatest disgrace that America has ever had to suffer,
actually repeated at this late date the monstrous lie for which he is
infamous throughout the world: "We went to war because we were
attacked, and we are at war today because there are still people out
there who want to harm our country and hurt our citizens"
Saying 9/11 is only a part of a mysterious but deadly neo- con puzzle, Roberts looked back at history for some answers.
"They (neo cons) are making such fatalistic mistakes and are about as
insane as Hitler and the Nazi Party when they invaded Russia in the
dead of the winter," said Roberts who now, as a hobby, syndicates a
national newspaper column, adding to his long and impressive list of
academic, journalistic and political credentials.
Serving under President Reagan in 1981-82, Treasury Secretary Regan
credited him with having a major role in the Economic Recovery Tax Act
of 1981. He was then awarded the Treasury Department's Meritorious
Service Award for "his outstanding contributions to the formulation of
United States economic policy."
Former Bush Team Member Says WTC Collapse Likely A Controlled Demolition And "Inside Job"
 A former chief economist in the Labor Department during President
Bush's first term now believes the official story about the collapse of
the WTC is 'bogus,' saying it is more likely that a controlled
demolition destroyed the Twin Towers and adjacent Building No. 7.
"If demolition destroyed three steel skyscrapers at the World Trade
Center on 9/11, then the case for an 'inside job' and a government
attack on America would be compelling," said Morgan Reynolds, Ph.D, a
former member of the Bush team who also served as director of the
Criminal Justice Center at the National Center for Policy Analysis
headquartered in Dallas, TX.
Reynolds, now a professor emeritus at Texas A&M University, also
believes it's 'next to impossible' that 19 Arab Terrorists alone
outfoxed the mighty U.S. military, adding the scientific conclusions
about the WTC collapse may hold the key to the entire mysterious plot
behind 9/11.
"It is hard to exaggerate the importance of a scientific debate
over the cause(s) of the collapse of the twin towers and building 7,"
said Reynolds this week from his offices at Texas A&M. "If the
official wisdom on the collapses is wrong, as I believe it is, then
policy based on such erroneous engineering analysis is not likely to be
correct either. The government's collapse theory is highly vulnerable
on its own terms. Only professional demolition appears to account for
the full range of facts associated with the collapse of the three

"More importantly, momentous political and social consequences would
follow if impartial observers concluded that professionals imploded the
WTC. Meanwhile, the job of scientists, engineers and impartial
researchers everywhere is to get the scientific and engineering
analysis of 9/11 right."
However, Reynolds said "getting it right in today's security state'
remains challenging because he claims explosives and structural experts
have been intimidated in their analyses of the collapses of 9/11.
From the beginning, the Bush administration claimed that burning jet
fuel caused the collapse of the towers. Although many independent
investigators have disagreed, they have been hard pressed to disprove
the government theory since most of the evidence was removed by FEMA
prior to independent investigation.
Critics claim the Bush administration has tried to cover-up the
evidence and the recent 9/11 Commission has failed to address the major
evidence contradicting the official version of 9/11.
Some facts demonstrating the flaws in the government jet fuel theory include:
-- Photos showing people walking around in the hole in the North Tower where 10,000 gallons of jet fuel supposedly was burning..
--When the South Tower was hit, most of the North Tower's flames had
already vanished, burning for only 16 minutes, making it relatively
easy to contain and control without a total collapse.
--The fire did not grow over time, probably because it quickly ran out
of fuel and was suffocating, indicating without added explosive devices
the firs could have been easily controlled.
--FDNY fire fighters still remain under a tight government gag order to
not discuss the explosions they heard, felt and saw. FAA personnel are
also under a similar 9/11 gag order.
--Even the flawed 9/11 Commission Report acknowledges that "none of the
[fire] chiefs present believed that a total collapse of either tower
was possible."
-- Fire had never before caused steel-frame buildings to collapse
except for the three buildings on 9/11, nor has fire collapsed any
steel high rise since 9/11.
-- The fires, especially in the South Tower and WTC-7, were relatively small.
-- WTC-7 was unharmed by an airplane and had only minor fires on the
seventh and twelfth floors of this 47-story steel building yet it
collapsed in less than 10 seconds.
-- WTC-5 and WTC-6 had raging fires but did not collapse despite much thinner steel beams.
-- In a PBS documentary, Larry Silverstein, the WTC leaseholder, told
the fire department commander on 9/11 about WTC-7 that. "may be the
smartest thing to do is pull it," slang for demolish it.
-- It's difficult if not impossible for hydrocarbon fires like those
fed by jet fuel (kerosene) to raise the temperature of steel close to
melting.
Despite the numerous holes in the government story, the Bush
administration has brushed aside or basically ignored any and all
critics. Mainstream experts, speaking for the administration, offer a
theory essentially arguing that an airplane impact weakened each
structure and an intense fire thermally weakened structural components,
causing buckling failures while allowing the upper floors to pancake
onto the floors below.
One who supports the official account is Thomas Eager, professor of
materials engineering and engineering systems at MIT. He argues that
the collapse occurred by the extreme heat from the fires, causing the
loss of loading-bearing capacity on the structural frame.
Eagar points out the steel in the towers could have collapsed only if
heated to the point where it "lost 80 percent of its strength," or
around 1,300 degrees Fahrenheit. Critics claim his theory is flawed
since the fires did not appear to be intense and widespread enough to
reach such high temperatures.
Other experts supporting the official story claim the impact of the
airplanes, not the heat, weakened the entire structural system of the
towers, but critics contend the beams on floors 94-98 did not appear
severely weakened, much less the entire structural system.
Further complicating the matter, hard evidence to fully substantiate
either theory since evidence is lacking due to FEMA's quick removal of
the structural steel before it could be analyzed. Even though the
criminal code requires that crime scene evidence be kept for forensic
analysis, FEMA had it destroyed or shipped overseas before a serious
investigation could take place.
And even more doubt is cast over why FEMA acted so swiftly since
coincidentally officials had arrived the day before the 9/11 attacks at
New York's Pier 29 to conduct a war game exercise, named "Tripod II."
Besides FEMA's quick removal of the debris, authorities considered the
steel quite valuable as New York City officials had every debris truck
tracked on GPS and even fired one truck driver who took an unauthorized
lunch break.
In a detailed analysis just released supporting the controlled demolition theory, Reynolds presents a compelling case.
"First, no steel-framed skyscraper, even engulfed in flames hour after
hour, had ever collapsed before. Suddenly, three stunning collapses
occur within a few city blocks on the same day, two allegedly hit by
aircraft, the third not," said Reynolds. "These extraordinary collapses
after short-duration minor fires made it all the more important to
preserve the evidence, mostly steel girders, to study what had happened.
"On fire intensity, consider this benchmark: A 1991 FEMA report on
Philadelphia's Meridian Plaza fire said that the fire was so energetic
that 'beams and girders sagged and twisted, but despite this
extraordinary exposure, the columns continued to support their loads
without obvious damage.' Such an intense fire with consequent sagging
and twisting steel beams bears no resemblance to what we observed at
the WTC."
After considering both sides of the 9/11 debate and after thoroughly
sifting through all the available material, Reynolds concludes the
government story regarding all four plane crashes on 9/11 remains
highly suspect.
"In fact, the government has failed to produce significant wreckage
from any of the four alleged airliners that fateful day. The familiar
photo of the Flight 93 crash site in Pennsylvania shows no fuselage,
engine or anything recognizable as a plane, just a smoking hole in the
ground," said Reynolds. "Photographers reportedly were not allowed near
the hole. Neither the FBI nor the National Transportation Safety Board
have investigated or produced any report on the alleged airliner
crashes."
9/11: Smoking Guns
1) Why didn't NORAD fulfil its standard operating procedure and
intercept the planes? Were NORAD intentionally confused by the wargames
taking place on the morning of 9/11 or were they ordered to stand down?
Flight 77 was known by NORAD to have been hijacked by 8:50am. Yet it is
a full 48 minutes until any fighters are scrambled, as two leave
Langley AFB just two minutes before Flight 77 hits the Pentagon at
9:40am.
2) What is the meaning behind the following quote attributed to Dick
Cheney which came to light during the 9/11 Commission hearings. The
passage is taken from testimony given by Secretary of Transportation
Norman Mineta.
During the time that the airplane was coming in to the Pentagon, there
was a young man who would come in and say to the Vice President, "The
plane is 50 miles out." "The plane is 30 miles out." And when it got
down to "the plane is 10 miles out," the young man also said to the
Vice President, "Do the orders still stand?" And the Vice President
turned and whipped his neck around and said, "Of course the orders
still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?"
As the plane was not shot down are we to take it that the orders were to let the plane find its target?
3) What was the cause of the collapse of WTC Building 7? The plane
wasn't hit by a building and yet it collapsed in the same manner as the
twin towers. Why hasn't Larry Silverstein offered a public explanation
as to the meaning behind his comments on a September 2002 PBC
documentary, America Rebuilds, where he admits the decision was made to
"pull" the building. Pulling a building is the industry term for
controlled demolition. The official FEMA report listed fire damage as
the reason for the building's collapse, even though photos taken before
the collapse indicate minimal fires.
How can the collapse of the building and also the twin towers be
justified in light of numerous examples of high story buildings which
burned for hours and even days without collapsing, such as the recent
Windsor Building fire in Madrid?
4) How did Rudolph Giuliani know that the south tower was about to
collapse? Giuliani told ABC's Peter Jennings, "We were operating out of
there when we were told that the World Trade Center was gonna collapse."
The World Trade Center was the first steel building to collapse from fire damage in history.
Who told Giuliani the building was going to collapse and how did they know?
5) In the days following September 11th, the FBI released a list of the 19 hijackers.
At least four of these hijackers are still alive. Saudi Arabian pilot
Waleed Al Shehri ) was one of five men that the FBI said had
deliberately crashed American Airlines flight 11 into the World Trade
Centre on 11 September.
He told journalists there that he had nothing to do with the attacks on
New York and Washington, and had been in Morocco when they happened. He
has contacted both the Saudi and American authorities, according to
Saudi press reports.
Other so called 'suicide hijackers' who have come forward to protest
their innocence (being alive is a good enough alibi) are Abdulaziz Al
Omari , Saeed Alghamdi and Khalid Al Midhar.
How can we take claims of paper passports that miraculously escaped the
impact of the plane and the gigantic fireballs and fluttered mostly
unscathed down to the ground seriously? At least a third of the victims
were never identified and yet a paper passport survives. Was this an
attempt to frame the very individuals the FBI would later blame for the
attack?
6) Who told a number of public officials not to fly into New York on
the morning of 9/11 and why didn't the people on the targeted planes
get the same warnings?
Mayor of San Francisco Willie Brown was set to fly into New York on the
morning of September 11. However, he got a call from what he described
as his 'airport security' late September 10th advising against flying
due to a security threat.
Newsweek twice reported that top Pentagon officials had got a warning
of the impending attack on September 10th, and cancelled their flights
for the next day. This confirms that these officials knew both the
locations of the imminent attack and the method of using jetliners as
bombs.
7) From July 4th-14th 2001, Osama bin Laden was being treated for
kidney infection at the American Hospital, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
There, on multiple occasions, he met with CIA station Chief Larry
Mitchell. Bin Laden gave Mitchell 'precise information' regarding 'an
imminent attack' on the US. Bin Laden also met with numerous members of
his family, who left the US by
chartered flights after September 11th with the full blessings of the US government.
A 2000 Clinton presidential executive order was still in effect and
mandated that bin Laden should have been killed on the spot. Bin Laden
was allowed to leave of his own free will.
Former German Minister Says Building 7 Used To Run 9/11 Attack
Guide the planes in, then destroy the crime scene
Former Helmut Schmidt cabinet member, 25-year German Parliamentarian
and global intelligence expert Andreas Von Bülow says that the 9/11
attack was run by the highest levels of the US intelligence apparatus
using WTC Building 7 as a command bunker which was later demolished in
order to destroy the crime scene.
Von Bülow said that "the official story is so wrong, it must be an inside job."
Von Bülow discussed the special software programs that allow the CIA to
track suspicious stock market movements in real time. Record put
options placed on United and American Airlines in the week before 9/11,
a speculation that the stock would crash, clearly indicated inside
foreknowledge of the impending attack.
"If the stock market has very strange movements immediately they take
care of this and they had a lot of tapes and the lawyers told the
people destroy these tapes."
"The Bush administration is in a deep defensive [mode] and probably
they would like to come out with a new offensive," said Von Bülow as he
considered whether a new staged false flag terror attack could be
launched to further an interventionist agenda.
"The names of these nineteen [hijackers] never came up in the official
passenger list, until now there's no proof they were on the planes."
Von Bülow also pointed out how the alleged hijacker's flight
instructors told investigators that they couldn't even fly Cessna's,
never mind complex large commercial airliners.
Von Bülow also touched upon the implausible collapse of the buildings.
"The towers came down in the velocity of free fall which is totally
impossible, they fall down in 8, 9, or 10 seconds, the pancake theory
is ridiculous," he said.
Von Bülow also highlighted the fact that there were 67 successful
intercepts of errant aircraft in the year of 2001 before 9/11 and yet
four planes were allowed to veer wildly off course without any being
intercepted on that one day.
Rudolph Giuliani opened a $13 million emergency Command Center
(pictured) on the 23rd floor of World Trade Center Building 7 in June
1999 in part to respond to and manage terrorist attacks.
Von Bülow referenced the command bunker in Building 7, calling it the
"optimal place" to run the attacks using remote control technology to
guide the planes in and then destroying the crime scene by imploding
the building.
"There were two procedures, one was flying in the aircraft the second was the explosions," he said.
When asked precisely which parties carried out the attack Von Bülow
said it must have been a "very small group" within the CIA with the
help of Saudi Arabian and Pakistani secret service intelligence.
Von Bülow outlined his view that one reason for the execution of 9/11
was to provide the justification for US military bases in the near and
Middle East to be built in anticipation for a future confrontation with
China, whom the Neo-Cons believe have grown too powerful and need to
have their geopolitical wings clipped.
"I would hope that one 'new Pearl Harbor' is enough," said Von Bülow, "but I cannot be sure."
Former MI5 Agent Says 9/11 An Inside Job
Attack Was 'Coup de'tat,' Buildings Were Demolished By Controlled Demolitions
Former MI5 agent David Shayler, who previously blew the whistle on the
British government paying Al Qaeda $200,000 to carry out political
assassinations, has gone on the record with his conviction that 9/11
was an inside job meant to bring about a permanent state of emergency
in America and pave the way for the invasions of Afghanistan, Iraq and
ultimately Iran and Syria.
David Shayler joined MI5 in October 1991 and worked there for five
years. He started at F Branch (counter-subversion) in January 1992, and
worked in T Branch (Irish terrorism) from August 1992 until October
1994. He left the organization in 1996.
Shayler appeared on The Alex Jones Show to kick off what will be a
wider public campaign to educate the public on 9/11 issues and
government corruption.
Shayler again risked jail by speaking out. The British government has a
legal gag preventing him from speaking about his work during his MI5
tenure. Since what Shayler discussed was already on the public record
(a consequence of which was his imprisonment on two separate
occasions), he now feels safer in stepping back out into the limelight.
Shayler delved into his past investigations and the evidence that led
some within MI5 to conclude that the Israelis bombed their own London
embassy in July 1994. Shayler said that the Israelis framed two
Palestinians who remain in jail to this day.
"The same thing has happened with two Palestinians who were convicted
of conspiracy to cause the attack on the Israeli Embassy in Britain in
1994 but MI5 didn't disclose two documents which indicated their
innocence. One document indicated another group had carried out the
attack and the other document was the belief of an MI5 officer that the
Israelis had actually bombed their own embassy and allowed a controlled
explosion to try and get better security and these documents were never
shown to the trial judge let alone the defense."
Shayler said that his suspicions were first aroused about 9/11 when the
usual route of crime scene investigation was impeded when the debris
was immediately seized and shipped off to China.
"It is in fact a criminal offence to interfere with a crime scene and
yet in the case of 9/11 all the metal from the buildings is shipped out
to China, there are no forensications done on that metal. Now that to
me suggests they never wanted anybody to look at that metal because it
was not going to provide the evidence they wanted to show people that
it was Al-Qaeda."
Shayler then went on to dismiss the incompetence theory.
"The more I look at it, you realize that it's not incompetence. There
were FBI officers all over the country, Colleen Rowley is obviously the
one who managed to get a congressional hearing, but there was plenty of
evidence certainly."
"There are so many questions that need to be answered, protocols being
overridden within national defense, people actively being stopped from
carrying out investigations. This wasn't an accident, they were aware
there was intelligence indicating those kind of attacks, there were FBI
intercepts saying it in the days before the attacks. When you look at
it all, that is a big big intelligence picture and yet these people
were crucially stopped from doing their jobs, stopped from trying to
protect the American people."
Shayler elaborated by saying the evidence suggests the attack was
originally meant to be much wider in scope and was an attempt at a
violent coup intended to decapitate the entire government as a pretext
for martial law.
"So you're looking at a situation in which you almost have a coup
de'tat because you've got to bear in mind that there were weapons
discovered on planes that didn't take off on 9/11. Now people have
obviously postulated that they were going perhaps to attack the White
House, Capitol Hill. That looks to me like an attempt to destroy
American government and declare a state of emergency, in fact a coup
de'tat, a violent coup de'tat."
"There are so very many questions about this and you realize again that
none of the enquiries ever get to the bottom of any of these things,
they don't take all the evidence, they don't often take any evidence
under oath when they should be taking it under oath."
Shayler was forthright in his assertion that the attack was planned and
executed within the jurisdiction of the military-industrial complex.
"They let it happen, they made it happen to create a trigger to be able
to allow the invasion of Afghanistan, the invasion of Iraq and of
course what they're trying to do now is the same thing with the
invasion of Iran and Syria."
Shayler ended by questioning the highly suspicious nature of the
collapse of the twin towers and Building 7, the first buildings in
history, all in the same day, to collapse from so-called fire damage
alone.
"I've seen the results of terroristic explosions and so on and no
terrorist explosion has ever brought down a building. When the IRA put
something like a thousands tonnes of home-made explosives in front of
the Baltic Exchange building in Bishopsgate and let off the bomb, all
the glass came out, the building shook a bit but there was no question
about the building falling down and it doesn't obey the laws of physics
for buildings to fall down in the way the World Trade Center came down.
So you have the comparison of the two, Building 7 compared with the
north and south towers coming down and those two things are exactly the
same, they were demolished."
David Shayler joins a spate of recent credible whistleblowers who share
the same sentiments about the real story behind 9/11. Former Chief
Economist for the Department of Labor during President George W. Bush's
first term Morgan Reynolds publicly questioned the unexplained collapse
of WTC Building 7 earlier this month. In addition, a former Assistant
Secretary of the Treasury under President Reagan, Paul Craig Roberts,
shared his concerns last week when he said the Bush Administration were
making the same mistakes as the Nazis when they invaded Russia in the
dead of Winter. Roberts seriously doubts the official explanation
behind 9/11.
